What it gives you
For images the storage prepares several sizes and returns a signed link to the one requested: thumbnail, medium or full. A 48 pixel avatar does not load the full file. Documents get a PDF preview, video is converted as a separate job with a plan limit, and exceeding it returns a dedicated code rather than a generic error.
